Ernst & Young Communication Center

Accounting is all about effective communication. Whether you are advising a client on tax implications of a business decision, informing investors of the accuracy of financial statements, or designing an accounting information system for a corporation, effective communication is critical to your success. If you are an accounting student in the MS program who wants to improve your communication skills, we are exactly the people you want to talk with.

The EYCC is a unique and valuable resource to help you develop and refine your interviewing, public speaking, and writing skills. Established in 2003, with the support and generosity of Ernst & Young, the EYCC infuses communication skill development into the high quality accounting education offered at MSU. Our trained communication consultants focus on teaching best practices to help you: Think. Create. Deliver. Reflect. We will equip you with valuable skills to apply in your courses and career.

We offer the following services: resume reviews, mock interviews, paper critiques, presentation development and rehearsal, one-to-one and small group communication consultations, and videotaping. Our services don’t stop there. We have helped students develop networking strategies, elevator speeches, and luncheon etiquette. We have also taught students techniques for negotiating gender roles in the workplace, leadership development, and teaching. If your questions are communication related, we would love to help. Whatever you want to work on, we can help you make it look and sound professional.
